CMS bursary competition for Scottish S5 Pupils

Deadline for applications is 30 June 2017

We are writing to you to alert you and your S5 pupils about our CMS bursary competition, which is open to all state school pupils in Scotland, who meet certain financial and academic criteria, and who are hoping to go on to study law at university.

The bursary provides £10,000 over the course of the pupil’s university law degree, plus mentoring and work experience support with our firm.  We hope it will be of interest to any of your pupils who are considering going on to study law at university.

A copy of the Rules for the scheme are at the bottom of this post and pupils can find out more here:

To enter the competition, we ask for a short essay – the competition closes on 30 June 2017, so we hope this message can be shared with your pupils, in order that they might be able to use the next week to prepare their applications.

Please be advised that school will close for the summer break at 12 noon on Friday, 30th June 2017. School transport has been arranged for this time.

Visit by Deputy Provost Margot Russell

Margot Russell, Deputy Provost and local Labour councillor,  came into school today to meet the winning group from Creative Dalkeith and discuss their vision for the regeneration of Jarnac Court. Margot was overwhelmed by the level of creativity shown by the pupils and provided some insight into the history of Jarnac Court. Margot is hopeful that this idea can be taken forward and will be taken into consideration by the planners when they start to make progress with the development. Margot is excited to see the 3D renders that the pupils created at D2 Architects office last week.
