Update from the Headteacher – Monday 27 April 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope that this email finds you well and that you managed to enjoy some time to relax over the weekend.

I am acutely aware that today would have been the first day of the SQA exams which as you know have been cancelled.  This may provoke mixed emotions in your young people who had been working so hard towards this stage in their school career.  However, I remain confident that they will achieve the qualifications that they deserve through the robust systems that SQA now have in place.

I am also aware that Friday would have been the last formal day in school for those who are leaving school this year.  Unfortunately we have not been able to celebrate as we had intended.  Rest assured, we will do what we can, when we can and in accordance with public health guidance to mark this important transition.  I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our leavers the very best of luck as they move to pastures new in the months ahead.

Some pupils in the senior phase have been asking questions about final decisions regarding coursing for the new session.  This will be attended to in due course, either remotely or on our return to school.

I would like to thank all in our school community for their continued support.

Kind regards,

Allyson Dobson
