Message from Mr Gordon, Depute Headteacher re Senior Supported Study

Dear Parent/Carer,

We appreciate that Supported Study plays an important role in the young people’s learning at DHS and, as per my previous email, we are always striving to enhance their learning experiences during, and out with, school hours. Therefore, please find below a timetable of the Supported Study opportunities available to pupils in the Senior Phase. It’s a great opportunity for the young people to take advantage of these rich learning opportunities on offer from staff during lunch and after school.

Having reviewed the national guidance, the Senior Leadership Team have decided that Supported Study clubs can take place as long as the appropriate health and safety procedures are put in place. The Supported Study clubs taking place after school will finish by no later than 4:15pm and all of the successful cleaning routines, seating plans (track and trace) and social distancing measures will continue to be implemented.

Staff will keep a pupil register for each study club and ensure that seating plans are also recorded for track and trace purposes.
