Very soon the personalisation and choice process will begin for all pupils currently in S2 and the senior phase coursing process will begin for all pupils currently in S3, S4 & S5. On the evening of Wednesday 6 February a pathways information session will take place. The pathways information session for parents of pupils in S3, S4 & S5 will begin at 6.30pm and at 7.45pm for parents of pupils in S2.
There will also be a Careers Fair on the same night, with stalls from local and national employers, Edinburgh College and several universities. This will be open from 6pm until 8.30pm.
You son/daughter is of course also very welcome to the events on the night.
Various organisations are looking for apprentices – you may find with companies like Leonardo that they open applications now but will not start the apprentice until July / August.
Leonardo (they make the electronics for fighter jets / military planes) also recruit every year
Network Rail are looking for students to participate in their graduate and placement opportunities (tend to recruit on a regular basis also)
BBC also seem to be looking for production apprentices and trainees – have a look at bbc.co.uk and search for careers and then click on the tab “apprenticeships and traineeships.”
