Please see the weekly newsletter below with current information about our school. I would be delighted to hear from our families about items of interest that they would like me to include in forthcoming newsletters.
With very best wishes,
Welcome to the first weekly newsletter of Session 21-22.
I do hope that all of our families managed to find some time to rest and relax over the summer break. It was really lovely to see our pupils return to us earlier this week refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
A very special welcome is extended to our new families who have joined the Dalkeith High School community. I have been particularly impressed by how well our new S1 pupils have adapted to their new school environment, especially given that the P7 visits were unable to take place last term due to Covid restrictions. I look forward to getting to know our new S1 pupils and their families over the coming weeks and months.
Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly newsletter providing you with important information about our school. The feedback that we have had from our families suggests that the clear, timely communication they have received from the school has been very much appreciated throughout the pandemic.

As this is the final weekly email of the session I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your unstinting support throughout this most challenging of years.
This time last year few would have predicted the twists and turns that our lives would have taken. So many in our school community have been affected by the pandemic and we must never lose sight of the losses sustained by our families.
However, now as the term comes to an end we have an opportunity to step back and reflect on all that we have achieved as a school community – from running Hub classes during the winter lockdown for those who needed our help most, to switching successfully to online learning, to supporting our senior phase pupils to achieve their very best in national qualifications. It has been the herculean effort from all that has made it possible and I continue to remain proud of all that our school community has achieved.
It is now time for us to stop for a while and recharge the batteries. I do hope that everyone enjoys a well earned rest over the next few weeks. I look forward to welcoming all of our pupils back into school on Wednesday, 18th August.
I attach below a couple of letters from Midlothian Council for your attention.
