Courses:

Advanced Higher – the course consists of 3 taught units and a research investigation. Course content covers a wide range of Chemistry to include; inorganic and physical chemistry, organic chemistry and instrumental analysis and current research in the subject.

Higher – the course includes 4 taught units. These are Chemical changes and structure, nature’s chemistry, chemistry in society and researching chemistry. Pupils must complete internal unit assessments for each of these units and pass a practical assessment. 20% of the final grade is awarded from a research assignment, which is externally marked.

National 3/4/5 – the course has 3 taught units and an external research assignment. The course covers chemical changes in structure, nature’s chemistry and chemistry in society.

S3 – the S3 course provides a valuable introduction to the knowledge and skills required in Chemistry. Pupils will study chemical reactions, the periodic table, fuels and the environment.
