S4-S6

15/09/16: Senior Phase Concerns Letter 1 posted home. These are targeted at pupils where staff have identified issues with one of more of the following areas in their subject:

  • Attendance
  • Homework
  • Work ethic
  • Behaviour
  • Progress

Receiving a Concerns Letter acts as an early warning that action needs to be taken to ensure success in the relevant course. After discussing the letter with their child, should more information be required, parents/carers are invited to contact the relevant Guidance teacher. They will then, where needed, gather more detailed comments from the subject(s) in question.

27/10/16: Senior Phase Tracking Report 1 posted home. The report will include:

  • Effort/ behaviour/homework
  • Working grade/target grade
  • Targets based on learner conversations

 

30/11/16: S5/6 Parents’/Carers’ Meeting. This evening will include presentations supporting young people and their parents/carers in their understanding of the requirements of National Qualifications. Subjects specialists will be there to discuss progress during S5/6 and to advise on next steps within the subject.

08/12/16: S4 Parents’/Carers’ Meeting. This evening will include presentations supporting young people and their parents/carers in their understanding of the requirements of National Qualifications. Subjects specialists will be there to discuss progress during S4 and to advise on next steps within the subject.

24/02/17: Senior Phase Tracking Report 2 posted home. The report will include:

  • Prelim results
  • Strengths and next steps

 

22/03/17: Senior Phase Concerns Letter 2 posted home. These are targeted at pupils where staff have identified issues with one of more of the following areas in their subject:

Receiving a Concerns Letter indicates that immediate action needs to be taken to ensure success in the relevant course. After discussing the letter with their child, should more information be required, parents/carers are invited to contact the relevant Guidance teacher. They will then, where needed, gather more detailed comments from the subject(s) in question.

Any further issues pertaining to presentation for National Qualifications will then be highlighted by the DHT in charge of SQA (Mrs McGlashan in 2016-17), through the generation of change of level/withdrawal from exam/withdrawal from course letters where required.
