Modern Apprenticeship Opportunity – Office Support Assistant

Office support, within a construction company, assisting the Office and Contracts Managers.

Mostly administrative duties such as updating of spreadsheets, system work, timesheets, filing, printing etc.. general office work.

We are ideally looking for a school leaver, who is intuitive and has a good work ethic. We would put them through a digital office apprenticeship through QA apprenticeships.

Experience wise – I understand they may not have much experience in this kind of environment, so experience in using emails and computers would be a good start. Also not to be afraid to pick up the phone as this will be a part of the role. While we understand this generation are keen to build careers (which is amazing), we also welcome the fact that everyone starts somewhere and this might be a really good opportunity for someone potentially looking to get into construction administration, architecture, or surveying somewhere down the line.

Generally, just looking for someone to fit into the team nicely, help out and not be scared to ask questions.

If interested, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.

Its worth noting that the role is physically demanding and would require a good level of basic arithmetic, the ideal candidate must have a exemplary attendance with a willing attitude and able to take instruction from senior staff.

Update from the Headteacher – Friday 20 August 2021

Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome to the first weekly newsletter of Session 21-22.

I do hope that all of our families managed to find some time to rest and relax over the summer break.  It was really lovely to see our pupils return to us earlier this week refreshed and ready for the term ahead.

A very special welcome is extended to our new families who have joined the Dalkeith High School community.  I have been particularly impressed by how well our new S1 pupils have adapted to their new school environment, especially given that the P7 visits were unable to take place last term due to Covid restrictions.  I look forward to getting to know our new S1 pupils and their families over the coming weeks and months.

Thank you for taking the time to read our weekly newsletter providing you with important information about our school.  The feedback that we have had from our families suggests that the clear, timely communication they have received from the school has been very much appreciated throughout the pandemic.
