Congratulations to Ava Marko and Anna Lawson who are swim teammates at East Lothian and competed in a competition together recently.
Anna won gold for 100 free, 50 free, 100 backstroke and bronze for 100 breaststroke.
Ava won silver for 100 fly, 100 breaststroke and bronze for 50 free.
Both girls train very hard and support each other as teammates.
Celebrating Achievement – Anna Lawson
Congratulations to Anna who competed in the 3rd round of the East District swimming Championships at the weekend, Anna finished 3rd in the 100m breast stroke and achieved 2 personal bests, ending the championship with 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Anna is off to Aberdeen in a couple of weeks to compete in the Scottish National Age group Championships, a national competition, over 5 days, racing some of the top age group swimmers in the country.
Well done Anna!
Celebrating Achievement – Ritchie Saunders
Congratulations to Ritchie Saunders, 1B2, who recently qualified for the East District Swimming Championships, which hosts the top swimmers from across the district. Ritchie qualified for all 5 events across the weekend and made 3 finals, finishing 4th, 5th and 7th in his age group.
Ritchie will now head to Aberdeen during the Easter Holidays to compete over 5 days at the Scottish National Age Group Championships bringing together the very best swimmers from across the country. A fantastic achievement to even qualify for such an event at 12!
Well done Ritchie and good luck in Aberdeen!

To top it off Ava won the top girl of the weekend at the competition for her 400 free which was a lovely surprise as Ava has a back injury and is trying to push through with swimming and football which make her happy.
Celebrating Achievement – Lasswade Thistle 2007 Football Team
Lasswade Thistle 2007 football team are through to the Scottish Cup semi-final for the 2nd year running. That’s down to the last 4 out of 400+ teams who compete at the start.
Michael Davidson, Adam Bowen, and Gregor Reid are all really important players for the team.
The semi final is on the 5 March in Clydebank, fingers crossed the boys win tabs and get a chance to compete in the final.

Celebrating Achievement – Katie Salkeld, 2L2

On Sunday 22nd Jan Katie began her 6 day , early morning starts, ski schooling. Which Involved levelling up her techniques and parallel skiing comfortably on blue slopes and beginning to hit the reds.
It was a gruelling week of school in the morning and practicing what was learned in the afternoon with family and friends. Early morning starts and sometimes really early nights. All good fun and wonderful scenery but tiring too.
At the end of the week Katie past her tests and received her intermediate level 2 award and medal. Katie is looking forward to moving onto level 3 and bronze advanced in the coming years.
