Why Study English:

The teaching of English is centred around the four communication branches of Reading, Writing, Talking and Listening. School based work in these areas provides huge scope for creativity, critical analysis and self-expression, and our focus is always on improving our young people’s skills in literacy and communication to prepare for life beyond school, wherever that may be.

English must be studied until the end of S5. Qualifications in English are valued highly by universities, colleges and companies offering apprenticeships as this is a subject which has real significance and meaning in every walk of life.

Study Club Details:

Study clubs run most evenings after school and cover a variety of levels/courses.

Details are shared each year with the pupils and displayed throughout the department.
