Developing the Young Workforce Roadshow 2022

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian are delighted to launch our very first DYW Roadshow.

Following on from the success of previous years’ Jobs Roadshow’s we decided to reimagine how we could bring together employers, further education, higher education, and training providers with the young people in our region to help them find their next step.

DYW Roadshow is set to take place on Thursday 16th June 2022, from 9am-6pm. Venue is still to be confirmed but will most likely be in Edinburgh.  DYW may be able to arrange transport for the pupils but again this is still to be confirmed.  The event will feature a range of organisations from the key sectors across the region and is free for young people, parents, and carers.

You can find out more here:  Find Out More

The event is free to attend. Please speak to myself or your Pupil Support Leader if you would like to attend.

Please see Apprenticeship opportunity below from Emperor, if you are interested in applying please let either your Guidance Teacher or myself know. #dywedinmideast #scottishapprenticeshipweek

Lee
DYW Coordinator

Hello!

I work at Emperor, a creative agency in Edinburgh, and last year we recruited a school leaver to work with us an Account Executive.  She has been an amazing addition to the team, and we’d like to do this again this year, but I’m getting in touch now – nice and early and before uni decisions are finalised.

The role this year is for another Account Executive, starting in July 2022.

It’s a paid position and, as we’re a living wage employer, it will be a proper starting salary. But, depending on where you are based, it could involve a move to Edinburgh as it will be full time, Monday to Friday.

This role involves working as part of a bigger team, dealing with clients on a variety of different projects. The right person will be organised and responsive and interested in learning about clients and business. This is a great opportunity to fast track a career in marketing / an agency and is a great alternative to a business or marketing qualification.

Anyone interested should email jobsedin@emperor.works<mailto:jobsedin@emperor.works> with 300 words on why they’d be perfect for the role (we don’t want CV’s so it can be as blind a process as possible).

I’m happy to answer any questions anyone might have – as is Emma who applied and got the role via this process last year. I’ve also attached a poster below.
